Photoshoot with Marillion

Re-wind to February 2007 - I'm still at university (second year of my degree) and living in Camberwell, South London.

I received an email from one of the managers of Marillion asking if I could come to their studio, the Racket Club, and take some press photos for the band as they had their album 'Somewhere Else' dropping soon.

He'd found me via photos I'd taken for my uncles' band, Th' Great Outdoors.

With my limited equipment (I just had one lens and no flash), I was pretty underprepared but fortunately was able to get creative with them and the location to make the photos work. I was kindly loaned a flash by another photographer who happened to be there for a different shoot.

It was incredible luck that one of my first paid shoots would be for these rock legends!
