Tatler China | China’s Hidden Century at the British Museum

A wonderful project to have been part of - thank you to Lang at ARTouch Consulting for inviting me to be a part of this.

I was commissioned to shoot portraits of Jessica Harrison-Hall and Wenyuan Xin, curator and project curator respectively of the British Museum's exhibition China's Hidden Century, for a feature in Tatler China. The shoot was a remote collaboration - with Lang and I the British Museum itself to take the portraits and the Tatler China team connected via video call to talk with Jessica and Wenyuan.

As well as the curator portraits, I photographed a selection of objects from the exhibition and the accompanying publication - a nice challenge in terms of getting the detail and atmosphere right within the museum setting.

China's Hidden Century explores Qing dynasty art and culture from 1796 to 1912. It’s a period that has long been overlooked. It's a stunning exhibition and it was a privilege to shoot for a feature connected to it.
